Krishna Penumerthy founded Underlyte after spending years working at the intersection of healthcare operations and technology. He witnessed firsthand how overwhelmed medical practices were — buried under paperwork, struggling with outdated billing systems, and spending more time on administration than patient care. Clinicians were burning out not because of the work they loved, but because of the systems that were supposed to support them.The insight was clear: clinics didn't need more software. They needed purpose-built platforms designed by someone who understood the clinical workflow from the inside — someone who had sat in the operational trenches with physicians, practice managers, and front-desk staff, and understood what was actually breaking down.Underlyte was born from that conviction. Starting as a healthcare consulting practice helping clinics with practice management, CPSO accreditation, and human resources, the company evolved into a full clinical automation platform company — building tools like CeaseMyPain, ClaimAssist Pro, Rx-Efficacy Audit, and Care Loop Sentinel. Each product was forged from real problems observed in real clinics, not hypothetical use cases invented in a boardroom.Today, Underlyte serves clinics, employers, and health systems across Ontario and beyond, combining deep healthcare expertise with modern technology to reduce administrative burden and improve patient outcomes. The company remains founder-led, fiercely independent, and committed to the belief that technology should work for healthcare providers — never the other way around.
